Old Rose Lodge Inc.

The Old Rose Lodge opened its doors in 1988. We are situated in the heart of Charlottetown in a charming old house that is over 120 years old. Our manager has been here since 1990 running the day to day operations Monday to Friday. Our cleaner/cook/caregiver has also been with us for over ten years. We have cared for residents ranging from 18 years old to 99 years young. Walking into the house you instantly feel at home. We strive to create a place for our residents to call home.

We are a small, intimate facility with nine beds in total; three double rooms and three single rooms. They are located on the second and third floors, so our residents are typically joining us due to needing assistance with mental health and daily living, and not mobility issues. The main floor consists of a dining area and three sitting areas. The large dining room can accommodate all residents to eat at the same table to help facilitate a sense of companionship. There is also an outdoor deck for residents to enjoy the sunshine. Over half of our residents have been here over 10 years. This has created a real sense of family among the residents and our long-term staff.

We provide 24-hour care that’s provided by our knowledgeable staff who treat the residents them like their own family. Home cooked meals are provided and since there is a small number of residents, we do our best to include them in the meal suggestions. We also accompany our residents to appointments to take notes and remove the stress of trying to remember what was said.
